Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jason Mason (ranked 3354 p4p, 24517 weight class) and Markus Hrastnik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jason Mason!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Markus Hrastnik!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hrastnik with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Mason to score with a decent uppercut.
Mason has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Mentor Gym in the buildup to the fight.
Mason works Hrastnik's body with a nice hook.
Hrastnik takes one to the chin there.
Mason with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Mason stalks Hrastnik and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Hrastnik's face. Hrastnik staggers backwards, shaken.
Mason throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mason tests Hrastnik's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Mason turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Mason darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mason is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Hrastnik has given up his back.
Hrastnik is trying to stand. He's onto all fours with Mason on his back. Mason looks like he's slipping off but he's actually tansitioning to a beautiful armbar! Hrastnik has to tap out to a very impressive submission!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jason Mason!
Markus Hrastnik was interviewed post fight and said 'I don't know what I'm doing'.
