PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Fiore Azul (ranked 2410 p4p, 3200 weight class) and Enoch Overstreet (ranked 337 p4p, 421 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Fiore Azul!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Enoch Overstreet!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Overstreet clobbers Azul with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Azul misses with a kick to the body.
Azul blocks a jab.
Overstreet misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Azul.
Overstreet pulls out of a head kick attempt.

It looks like Enoch Overstreet has been cut.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Overstreet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's time! Azul's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Azul has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Overstreet finds it's way round the side to connect with Azul's head.

Overstreet steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Azul.
Overstreet tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
A quick step to the side and Azul tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Overstreet shoots in but Azul avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Overstreet is fighting off a takedown attempt but Azul is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Overstreet to the mat. Overstreet regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Our spies down at at Pound Town Athletics inform us that Overstreet has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Azul stands up over Overstreet, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Overstreet is on top in guard.

Azul is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Overstreet has latched onto it... Big trouble! Overstreet pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Azul is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Overstreet!
