And in the blue corner, fighting out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 8 wins and 6 losses; Wilhelm Bar! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Ren Mimura.

Nice work. Score +3 for passing guard: Nickal (5) vs (0) Bar Nickal in side control, just content to control the action for now. Nickal tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Nickal working away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bar is not content to let Nickal control the position.

Nickal is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Bar will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Nickal is looking to take a break and control but Bar is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Bar is trying to escape the position but Nickal is controlling the position.

Bar is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Nickal controlling the position well here. Bar rolled but Nickal kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Bar takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Nickal tries to get back to half guard but can't.
 That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Bar controlling his opponent. Bar tries to control but Nickal wriggling away. Nickal has given up his back.

 That's twelve minutes gone in the round. Bar tries to get the hooks in deep but Nickal pushed the leg off. Nickal is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Nickal holding on to Bar's left wrist, preventing the choke. Nickal just trying to survive but Bar is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Nickal tries to roll but Bar sticks to his back.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Bar controlling the position well here. Nickal rolled but Bar kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

And that's the end of the fight! Nickal takes the fight on points by 10 to 8. A relieved looking Bo Nickal thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. |
