PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Aahil Mohammad (ranked 1240 p4p, 1422 weight class) and Daniel Barbosa (ranked 187 p4p, 211 weight class). Daniel Barbosa told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mohammad is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Barbosa's half guard.
Barbosa looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Barbosa looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Mohammad pushes past his half guard into mount!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mohammad misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Mohammad has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Barbosa's face.

Barbosa is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Mohammad cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Barbosa is still in real trouble! Can Mohammad finish him?
Barbosa seems to have recovered his senses.
Barbosa is in a horrible position here. Mohammad smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Barbosa takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Mohammad's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
