The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smithers lands a body shot.

Smithers takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Smithers drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Smithers throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Smithers has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Smithers throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Krol shapes to counter with a head kick.
Smithers fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Smithers steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Krol.
Krol takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Krol bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

and Smithers connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Krol throws a looping overhand right but Smithers ducks down to avoid it.
Smithers swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Smithers throws an off balance right hand
and Krol counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Krol counters with a head kick that drops Smithers to the mat! Smithers scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!

Smithers looks to land a right hand but Krol moved out of range.
Smithers throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A little jabbing left from Krol on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Smithers misses with a hook. Krol ducked under it nicely.
Smithers misses with an uppercut
and Krol counters with a head kick that crumples his opponent - he's in a world of trouble! Krol looks at the referee who does nothing so Krol lands a crushing right that sends Smithers to the floor! This time the ref steps in to end the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Zygmunt Krol!
A relieved looking Zygmunt Krol thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
