The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pina tries to clinch but Papelao is having none of it.
Papelao takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Papelao throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Pina blocks it with crossed arms.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Pina tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Pina has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Pina fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Papelao manages to avoid it.
Pina scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

and Pina counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Papelao!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Pina wants to finish this one by submission but Papelao is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Pina.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pina can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Papelao is looking to escape.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Papelao really wants to buck Pina off and get back to his feet.

Pina jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Papelao is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Papelao and Pina has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Pina thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Pina is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Papelao knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Pina is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Papelao looks calm but he's in trouble here. Pina gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Papelao is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Pina lets go of the hold and Papelao can pop his arm back in it's socket.
