Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Rikiya Goromaru!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 21 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Diego Hageman!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hageman gets caught napping as Goromaru dives in and scores a takedown. Hageman manages to retain guard.
Hageman wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Goromaru manages to pass to side control.

Goromaru throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Goromaru not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Goromaru is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Goromaru throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Hageman to regain full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Goromaru with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Goromaru is looking to work some ground and pound but Hageman has wrist control.
Hageman avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Hageman can't keep his opponent in guard - Goromaru advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Goromaru is trying to control the action in half guard but Hageman is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Goromaru thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Goromaru is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Goromaru works his way into side control.

Hageman avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Goromaru.
Hageman is looking to regain half guard here but Goromaru keeps moving and retains side control.

Goromaru has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Goromaru is trying to work for a kimura but Hageman is defending well.
Goromaru lands strikes from half guard.
Goromaru working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Hageman's thigh. Hageman counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Goromaru is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Goromaru throws an elbow that misses. Hageman uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Goromaru's guard. Nice move by Hageman!


That's four minutes gone in the round.

Hageman wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Goromaru's closed guard. He's half up but Goromaru has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Goromaru pivots and extends the arm, Hageman falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Goromaru! Well done that man!
