Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Simons III!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, RG Dias!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Felipe Paraventi and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simons III slips a jab from Dias.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Dias thows a left - swing and a miss!

Simons III fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Dias sprawls well initially but Simons III persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Simons III not doing much here.
Simons III wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dias keeps working.
Dias wants to get back to full guard.
Simons III takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Simons III is pressing down on Dias's thigh, looking to free his foot. Dias is holding on for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Simons III wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dias keeps working.
Simons III looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Dias throws an overhand right that lands on Simons III's shoulder, as Simons III tries to avoid the shot.
Simons III blocks a jab.

Simons III shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Simons III is going olschool here, as he tries to force Dias to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Dias shrugs it off.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dias is trying to escape the mount.
Dias is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Simons III moves to back control.
Dias can't escape the position.
Dias tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Dias is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Simons III locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Dias is forced to tap!
