Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Benny Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Miranda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Benny Allen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jose Miranda! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Felipe Paraventi and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Miranda doesn't manage to clinch there - Allen circles away.
Miranda displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Allen. Allen ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Miranda moves away. Allen throws a body punch but Miranda moves out of range. Allen shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Miranda as he avoids it easily. Allen swats away the attempt to clinch by Miranda. Miranda tries to close the distance and clinch up but Allen swats him away and circles back towards the center. Allen throws a hook but Miranda blocks it. Allen fails with a takedown attempt from distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Benny Allen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Miranda wants to clinch up but Allen keeps it at a distance. Horrible takedown by Allen or perhaps it was just good defense by Miranda which made him look bad. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Miranda is looking to clinch but Allen is avoiding it.
Miranda shoots in but no luck this time. Miranda closes the distance and pushes Allen back into the cage. Miranda prevents Allen from breaking the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Allen is trying to break free. Allen gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Allen is keen to just control but Miranda is a slippery customer. Allen is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Allen is looking for a kimura but Miranda is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Allen to get the leverage. Allen is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Allen is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Miranda is just riding it out for now. Allen eventually gives up the hold. Allen is trying to control the action in half guard but Miranda is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Allen throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Miranda was covering up waiting for the punch and Allen finishes the takedown easily into guard. Miranda wants to stand but Allen is controlling the position. Allen trying to control the position from guard on top but Miranda is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Miranda working a defensive guard here.
Allen advances position into side control! Allen goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Miranda has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Allen but great work by Miranda.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Allen manages to work his way to half guard, despite Miranda's best efforts. Allen regains full guard. Nicely done. Allen has his foot on Miranda's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Miranda works his way back into a safe position though. Allen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Allen working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Miranda has passed into half guard!
Miranda prevents Allen from improving his position. Allen is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Miranda pulls his head out easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Benny Allen dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Allen shoots and misses and Miranda counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Allen actively working from the bottom here. Allen is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Allen looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Miranda prevents Allen from improving his position. Allen has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Miranda escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Miranda! Allen struggling a bit here.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Miranda lands a head kick!
Allen avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A combination from Allen does no damage. Miranda tries to clinch up but Allen circles away and keeps his distance. Allen misses with a takedown attempt and Miranda moves into the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Miranda has Allen pressed against the cage, preventing Allen from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Allen has had enough of the clinch but Miranda keeps him there for the moment. Allen has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Miranda avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Benny Allen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Miranda stalling against the cage.
Allen drops down looking for an ankle pick but Miranda pulls his leg out and moves away.
Allen tries for a takedown but Miranda circles away easily and Miranda counters by clinching up. Allen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Miranda tries to clinch but Allen moves out of range. Allen misses with a takedown attempt and Miranda makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Allen really felt that one! Allen keeps the fight on the outside. Miranda tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

and Miranda counters with a nice double leg into guard. Allen working for a triangle but Miranda defends it easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Allen tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Miranda wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Allen is not content to let Miranda control the position. Allen is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Miranda off and has taken his back! Allen has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Miranda has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Jose Miranda showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Allen misses with a takedown attempt and Miranda counters with a big head kick but Allen shrugs it off. Allen throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Benny Allen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Miranda is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Allen avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Allen shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Allen showed some decent athleticism there. Allen is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Miranda sees it coming and defends easily. Allen is looking to take a break and control but Miranda is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Allen maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Miranda could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Allen has cracked it and Miranda is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Allen!
