Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Broder Alert (ranked 3615 p4p, 2997 weight class) and Teague Shannon (ranked 391 p4p, 336 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Broder Alert has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Broder Alert seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Alert counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Alert.
Alert thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Alert drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Alert jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Alert is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Shannon knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Shannon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alert. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Alert has hold of Shannon's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Shannon tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Alert cranks the arm and Shannon screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Shannon, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Broder Alert!
