Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Eliott Leighton (ranked 2542 p4p, 4226 weight class) and Vigmar Friomannsson (ranked 0 p4p, 527 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Leighton might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Bad to the Bone - George Thorogood. Vigmar Friomannsson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 22 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Eliott Leighton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Vigmar Friomannsson!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Dmitry Maklakov and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Friomannsson takes a swing at Leighton's ribcage but misses.
Leighton feinted there with a counter leg kick.
A decent looking cross lands there for Friomannsson.
Leighton keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Friomannsson.
Friomannsson lands a slapping body shot.
Leighton throws a big shot that misses.
Eliott Leighton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Friomannsson misses with a body punch
and Leighton counters with a nice body kick.
Leighton fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Friomannsson, pushing him back against the cage.
Friomannsson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Leighton definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Leighton tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Friomannsson avoids it.

Friomannsson swings wildly with an uppercut but Leighton uses good head movement to avoid it.
Leighton putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Friomannsson in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Friomannsson has had enough of the clinch but Leighton keeps him there for the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Leighton has Friomannsson pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Leighton pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Friomannsson tumbling to the mat - Leighton dives into Friomannsson's guard.

Friomannsson wants to stand and escape. He's got his foot on Leighton's hips, looking to push off. But Leighton grabs a hold of the leg and drops back for an ankle lock! It's hard to tell if he's got it. Both fighters look composed - OH, not anymore they don't! Friomannsson screams like a kid who's trapped his fingers in the car door and taps out! Yikes, that must have hurt - hopefully it's not snapped anything!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Heel Hook). Eliott Leighton!
