Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jeremy Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shirai Akuma!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Jeff Smith and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akuma shoots for a double leg takedown but Johnson sprawls well. He's pushed Akuma's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Akuma shoots in for a takedown but Johnson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Akuma clinches with his opponent.
Akuma decides to pull guard.
Johnson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Akuma has Johnson pulled in close to control his posture.
Akuma is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Johnson is controlling him.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Akuma looking for a guillotine here but Johnson defends easily.
Johnson tries to stand but Akuma is controlling from the bottom.
Johnson wants to stand and escape but instead Akuma has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Johnson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Akuma is controlling him.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Akuma prevents Johnson from getting back to his feet.

Akuma stops Johnson from standing up.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Nice sprawl there from Johnson as Akuma shoots in.
As Akuma looks to move away, Johnson throws a big counter combo but Akuma just gets out of the way.
Jeremy Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shirai Akuma.
Johnson leaves Akuma with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Akuma fails with a takedown attempt.
Johnson is looking for a counter combo.
Akuma uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Johnson.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Akuma is defended easily by Johnson.
A quick step to the side and Johnson tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Akuma should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Akuma forces Johnson back against the cage and clinches.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Johnson tries to pull guard but Akuma holds him up against the cage and eventually Johnson drops back down to his feet.
Akuma manages to break the clinch.
Akuma tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Johnson defends well and Akuma ends up having to push Johnson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Johnson seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Akuma looks winded!
Johnson lands with a slapping head kick.
A head kick by Johnson misses
and Akuma counters with a series of strikes. Johnson will be more careful next time no doubt.
Johnson lands a big head kick that sends Akuma tumbling to the mat! Johnson takes a step backwards and waves Akuma back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Akuma is rocked!
Jeremy Johnson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Johnson cracks Akuma's jaw with two stiff jabs then ducks low and throws a soul-severing right uppercut to the mouth!! Akuma slumps to the ground with blood on his lips. The referee steps in before Johnson can do further damage! This one is done, son!
