Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rafael Munoz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Johnson Henry! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Henry pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Munoz back to the cage. Henry follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Henry moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Munoz takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Henry lands a lovely overhand right. Henry moves into range and connects with a jab. Henry's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Henry duly obliges. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Good exchange - Henry coming out on top. Henry misses with a few strikes there.
It looked like Munoz wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. A combination from Henry does no damage. A shot to the liver by Henry. Beautiful body shot. Munoz takes a shot right to the bread basket. Henry cracks Munoz with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
That's one minute gone in the round. Henry lands a jab to Munoz's midsection. Nice uppercut there from Henry. Henry misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Munoz checks a low kick from Henry. Henry moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Munoz gets caught napping as Henry dives in and scores a takedown. Munoz manages to retain guard. Munoz has his foot on Henry's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Henry works his way back into a safe position though. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Munoz is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Henry rolls with it to try and escape but Munoz cranks on the arm and Henry is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
