Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Charlie IV (ranked 1069 p4p, 1768 weight class) and Padraig Ahearn (ranked 152 p4p, 218 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Charlie IV! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Padraig Ahearn! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! IV closes the distance and clinches. Ahearn is trying to pull guard but IV has him pressed against the cage. Our sources have told us that IV has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight. Ahearn is trying to pull guard but IV turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Ahearn is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables IV to keep the fight standing. Charlie IV has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Padraig Ahearn. Ahearn lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down IV. IV lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Ahearn backwards. Ahearn lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Ahearn fails to pull guard.

IV is trying to break the clinch but Ahearn is controlling him. Ahearn ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Ahearn no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Ahearn has momentary wrist control but IV slips an elbow through the middle. IV is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. IV distracts Ahearn with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Ahearn is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and IV defends well. IV is posturing up here but Ahearn has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! IV tries to roll out but it's too tight and IV has to tap! Slick submission there by Ahearn!
