Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Buster Gloves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Leben (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gloves comes into the arena with TNT by ACDC blaring out of the sound system. Buster Gloves could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Chris Leben's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Eddie Farnsworth and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gloves misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Gloves circles away from the clinch attempt.
Gloves throws a series of strikes that have Leben backpedaling.
Gloves keeps the fight on the outside.
Leben checks a low kick from Gloves.
Gloves throws a leg kick but Leben sees it coming and moves out of range.
Leben closes the distance and pushes Gloves back into the cage.

Gloves tries to break the clinch but Leben is controlling the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Leben tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Gloves wants to stand but Leben has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Leben has his feet on Gloves's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Leben throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Gloves's head.

and Gloves counters with a three punch combo that has Leben backing up. Leben nods at Gloves to acknowledge the strikes.
Leben tries to close the distance and clinch but Gloves swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Gloves misses with a low kick.
Leben closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Gloves has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Leben avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Leben tries to land a knee to the head but Gloves blocks with his arms.
Leben using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Gloves has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Gloves is trying to drag Leben to the mat but Leben just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Leben had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Gloves is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Leben Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Gloves's back instead.

Leben gets his hands free as Gloves looks to control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Leben is persistently looking for the submission but Gloves is defending it well.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

and Leben counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Leben.
Leben has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Gloves avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Gloves has had enough of the clinch but Leben keeps him there for the moment.
Leben's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

and Leben holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Leben is pressed up against the cage. Gloves has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Leben down to the mat. Leben avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
