Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Frank Martin! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Felipe Paraventi and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Russo shoots for a takedown but Martin saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Martin throws a hook but Russo blocks it. Russo swings for the body but Martin moves out of range.
Martin scores with a jab. Russo acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Russo slips a jab from Martin. Martin throws out a loose jab but Russo uses good head movement to avoid it. Russo uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Martin. Russo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Russo takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Russo tries to clinch but Martin is having none of it. Martin fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Martin jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Martin avoids a punch combination nicely.
Martin tries to close the distance and clinch but Russo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Martin works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Russo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Russo shoots in for a takedown but Martin shows good takedown defense. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Allan Russo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Martin lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Martin throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Martin might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Russo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Russo is breathing heavily. Martin's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Martin throws out a loose jab but Russo uses good head movement to avoid it. Martin misses with a looping left. Martin rushes Russo and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Martin wants to get back to striking at distance but Russo won't allow it.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Martin tries to stand but Russo is controlling from the bottom. Russo keeping moving, preventing Martin from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Martin throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Martin with a nice head shot there. Martin wants to get up but he can't break Russo's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Russo throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Martin wants to get up but he can't break Russo's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Martin throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Russo works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Martin postures up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Good standup being displayed there by Martin as he connects with a hook. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frank Martin dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
The fighters circle momentarily. Martin darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Martin is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Russo. Russo shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Martin as he avoids it easily. Martin cracks Russo with a right hand to the side of the head. Martin rushes Russo and presses him up against the cage. Martin breaks the clinch.
Martin lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Martin lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Martin with a hook. Russo misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Martin has closed the distance and engaged Russo in a clinch.

Martin keeps the fight on the outside. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Russo keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Martin. Russo throws a left and a right that both miss
and Martin counters with a stiff right hand. Martin lands with a nice combination. Russo backs away looking to recover. Russo tries to keep at a distance but Martin has taken the fight into the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. A head punch blocked on the inside by Martin. Martin wants to get back to striking at distance but Russo won't allow it.
Russo is trying to break free. Martin gets through Russo's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Martin creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Russo's defenses.
It looks like Allan Russo has been cut. Martin pushes off an throws an elbow but Russo leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Martin breaks the clinch.
Martin swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Martin gets a clinch. Martin has had enough of the clinch but Russo keeps him there for the moment. Russo tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Martin smiles and moves away.
Martin lands with an uppercut that bounces Russo off the cage and back into rage. Nice uppercut lands for Martin. That snapped Russo's head back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Martin scores with the left hand. Russo knows he should have avoided that one. Martin throws a lazy right hand but Russo sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. A cross from Martin lands.
Russo is rocked! Martin misses with a straight left. Oh Russo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Russo uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Martin. Russo seems to have got his legs back now. Martin clinches with his opponent.
Russo blocks an elbow strike. Martin is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Martin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Martin lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Martin cracks Russo with a right hand to the side of the head. Martin throws a right and a left that Russo avoids nicely. Frank Martin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Martin closes the distance and clinches.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Russo keeps control of Martin as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Martin is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Martin manages to break the clinch.
Russo on the wrong end of a nice jab. Martin connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Russo is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Russo takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Martin cracks Russo with a hook to the temple - Russo is on wobbly legs here! Martin swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Russo falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Martin wins by TKO!
