Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sonny Day (ranked 1954 p4p, 24412 weight class) and Jerry Kramer (ranked 247 p4p, 509 weight class). The key to victory for Sonny Day has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sonny Day! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jerry Kramer! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Day throws a combination. Kramer tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Kramer is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Day's half guard. Day kicks Kramer off and gets back to his feet. A jab from Day does it's job there. Kramer closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Day did well to prevent Kramer getting side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kramer is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Day manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Kramer keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. Day escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Day throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Kramer. Kramer shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Day as he avoids it easily. Day shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Kramer eats them both and turns towards Day to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Jab by Day.
That's one minute gone in the round. Day punishes Kramer's body with a nice straight punch. Day cracks Kramer with a good jab. Day stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Day wants it to stay on the feet. Kramer fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Day sprawls well initially but Kramer persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Day manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Kramer keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. Day breaks from the clinch.
Kramer takes a shot to the body in his stride.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kramer tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Day looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Kramer decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Day manages to escape and get back to his feet! Kramer looks winded! Day lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Day cracks Kramer with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Day lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Kramer at a distance.
Day lands a high kick!
Kramer on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Kramer takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Day tests Kramer's chin there with a solid looking shot. Day paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Kramer gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Day cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Sonny Day has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jerry Kramer. Kramer tries to move into range but Day moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Kramer on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Donk. Day catches Kramer right on the button with a cross. Day scores with a jab to the jaw. Day lands a jab to the head.
Day connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Day lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Kramer looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Kramer moves forwards but Day connects with a nice, crisp jab. Day explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Day fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Kramer has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Kramer fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Day to the ground. Kramer is now in Day's guard. Kramer is sitting in close to Day's body. Day has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Kramer is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Kramer is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Day.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Sonny Day! Sonny Day spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
