Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Billy Bong (ranked 2390 p4p, 5852 weight class) and Andrew Haw (ranked 302 p4p, 509 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Billy Bong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Andrew Haw!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haw throws a nice looking combination but Bong bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Haw throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Haw misses with a two punch combination.
Some wild striking there from Haw.
Bong throws a big counter combination but Haw scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Haw looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Bong moves out of range as Haw throws a body kick.
Bong is looking for a counter combo.
Haw misses with a wild combination.
Haw misses with a series of wild punches.
Bong throws a big counter combination but Haw scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Haw misses with a two punch combination.

Bong clinches up against the cage.
Bong stalling the fight.
Bong has Haw pressed against the cage.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Bong for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.
Haw wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Haw tries to keep at a distance but Bong has taken the fight into the clinch.
Haw tries for a takedown but Bong manages to get underhooks.
Haw jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bong walks away with a smile on his face. Haw gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Haw takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Haw throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Haw fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Haw misses with a combination
letting Bong counter with a right hand.
Haw pivots, looking for a leg kick but Bong is out of range and Haw settles back down.

Bong gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Haw fails to pull guard.
Billy Bong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrew Haw.
A short left from Bong.
Bong prevents Haw from breaking the clinch.
A bit of stalling here from Bong.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Haw is looking to take this one to the mat.
Bong stops a takedown attempt from Haw.

Haw drags the fight down to the ground.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bong wanted to stand there but Haw had control of the position.
Haw trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

Haw has a closed guard, preventing Bong from standing up.

Haw has control of Bong's left arm, preventing Bong from doing any damage.
Bong would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Sloppy strikes from Haw. Those never looked like landing.
Nice defenses there by Bong.
A punch lands to the side of Haw 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Haw misses with a head kick.
Bong lands an overhand right.
Haw misses with a leg kick.
Some wild striking there from Bong.

Haw jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Haw fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Bong has taken the fight to the clinch.

Bong breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bong definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Good shot there by Haw.

Bong closes the distance and pushes Haw back into the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bong pressing his opponent against the cage.
Bong prevents a takedown attempt there.
Haw wants to take the fight to the mat but Bong manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Bong breaks the clinch.
Bong steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Haw.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Billy Bong will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Haw throws a head kick but Bong moves out of range.
Bong thuds a left hand into Haw's body.
Haw throws a nice looking combination but Bong bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Bong moves out of range as Haw strikes.
Haw misses with a double jab.
Haw throws a poor cross that misses
and Bong counters with a series of strikes. Haw will be more careful next time no doubt.
Haw misses with a hook
and Bong counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Haw off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Bong follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Haw was out before he hit the floor.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Billy Bong!
