Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lesley Dancer (ranked 337 p4p, 503 weight class) and Eric Jacquin (ranked 48 p4p, 77 weight class). Eric Jacquin told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lesley Dancer!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eric Jacquin!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dancer slaps away a takedown attempt from Jacquin, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Jacquin misses with a takedown attempt
and Dancer counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Dancer lands a body shot.
Jacquin shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Dancer counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Lesley Dancer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eric Jacquin.
Jacquin takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Jacquin tries to move into range but Dancer moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Jacquin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dancer avoids it really well and circles away.
Jacquin shoots for a takedown but Dancer saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Dancer was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

and Jacquin takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Jacquin is rocked!
Dancer seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dancer flashes Jacquin a smile before throwing a beast of a right hand, straight down the pipe. Jacquin's eyes follow the hand right onto his nose, taking in it's full glory... and then darkness. Jacquin crumples to the floor! He's out cold! Dancer punches the air and yells at the top of his lungs - yeeeeeeeeeeah!!!! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Lesley Dancer!

Lesley Dancer seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
