Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Watchman Nee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hassan Takhti!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takhti shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Nee but Nee pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Takhti throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Nee throws a right hand that Takhti ducks under and follows up with a left that Takhti also avoids with ease.
Takhti jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Takhti shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Nee as he avoids it easily.
Takhti's coach down at Blaze Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Takhti's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Takhti connects with a body shot.
Nee throws a combination that misses

and Takhti counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Takhti is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Nee is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Nee has escaped and now he's on top!


Takhti working for submissions but it's allowed Nee to get to half guard.
Takhti manages to get to full guard.
Nee trying to stand up but can't free himself from Takhti's guard.

Takhti is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Nee is looking to stand up but Takhti won't let him.

Takhti looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Nee passes into side control.
Takhti is looking to reverse the position.

Nee decides to stand up, so the ref orders Takhti to his feet.
Takhti shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Nee as he avoids it easily.
Watchman Nee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hassan Takhti.

Takhti feints and as Nee raises his hands in defense, Takhti changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Takhti postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Nee is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Takhti, into his guard.


Takhti escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nee gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Takhti had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Nee defends it easily.
Nee wants to stand but Takhti has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Takhti looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Nee passes into half guard.
Takhti is looking to improve his position.
Nee seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Takhti is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Nee pulls his head out easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Nee stands up and beckons Takhti to join him on the feet.
No joy there for Nee, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Takhti is defended easily by Nee.
Takhti shoots in for a double leg but Nee sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Nee was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Takhti tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Nee was well out of range. Poor timing from Takhti.
Horrible takedown attempt by Takhti or perhaps it was just good defense by Nee, which made it look bad.
Nee shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Takhti eats them both and turns towards Nee to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Nee stuffs the takedown.
Nee misses with a wild combination.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Nee rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Takhti moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Nee keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Nee throws a right and a left that Takhti avoids nicely.
Nee cracks Takhti with an open hand slap.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Takhti looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Nee is fending him off so far but Takhti persists. Nope, Nee circles away and we're back to standing.
Nee defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Takhti.
Takhti tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Nee was well out of range. Poor timing from Takhti.
Takhti is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Nee rather than just go for the knockout.
Takhti shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Takhti tries to score a power double leg takedown but Nee sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Takhti somewhat.

Takhti shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Nee is trying to defend but Takhti finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Takhti is looking for a kimura but Nee is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Takhti to get the leverage.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Watchman Nee dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Nee throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Takhti is defended easily by Nee.
Takhti uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Nee.
Nee feints a jab promting Takhti to slip. Nee then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Takhti slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Nee looks to land a combination but Takhti avoids it well.
Takhti shoots and misses
enabling Nee to counter with a crisp jab.
Takhti has a takedown stuffed.
Watchman Nee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hassan Takhti.
Takhti avoids a punch combination nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nee keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Takhti fails with the takedown.

Takhti ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Nee moves away.
Takhti moves out of range as Nee strikes.
Nee fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Nee scores with a jab.
Hassan Takhti seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nee bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Takhti's head backwards.
Nice uppercut lands for Takhti. That snapped Nee's head back.
Nee rushes Takhti and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Takhti is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Nee piles on the pressure and Takhti crumples to the floor! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Watchman Nee!
