Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Lashley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Duquette (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Duquette is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Simple Man. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bobby Lashley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alex Duquette! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Yves DeLean and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lashley drives through with a takedown into guard. Lashley passes Duquette's left leg - he's now in half guard. Duquette is trying to stand up here but Lashley is controlling him well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ground and pound from Lashley. Duquette is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Duquette manages to get to full guard.
Lashley might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Lashley postures up in Duquette's guard and throws a big left but Duquette blocks it. Lashley trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Duquette lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Lashley! Duquette trying to control but Lashley is having none of it. Lashley is trying desperately to improve position. Lashley could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Duquette lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Lashley hang on? Lashley tries to reverse the position but Duquette maintains control. Duquette wants to control the pace but Lashley is squirming around nicely. Duquette fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Duquette prevents Lashley from getting the reversal. Lashley is working hard here to advance position. Duquette tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Duquette looking to control but Lashley is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Lashley is looking to get to half guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Duquette takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Lashley is looking to get to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Duquette trying to control but he's not successful this time. Duquette lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lashley tries to reverse the position but Duquette maintains control. Duquette has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Lashley is breathing heavily. Duquette scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Lashley?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Duquette lands a big elbow. Lashley slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Lashley is looking to improve his position.
Duquette thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Lashley on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lashley tries to get out of the position. Lashley has a hand on Duquette's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Duquette takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Lashley sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lashley wants to improve his position but Duquette is controlling well.
Duquette working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Duquette gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Duquette cracks Lashley with an open hand slap. Nice takedown defense from Duquette. No joy for Lashley on that attempt. Lashley looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Duquette throws a head kick that half lands.

Lashley fails with a takedown attempt from distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bobby Lashley. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Duquette connects with a high kick. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Duquette throws a head kick that half lands.

Duquette connects with a high kick. Duquette fakes the leg kick and cracks Lashley in the body. Duquette throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Lashley. Lashley shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Duquette pinned against the cage. Duquette gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Duquette is looking to take this fight into the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alex Duquette dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Duquette closes the distance and clinches. Duquette lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Duquette looking for a takedown. Duquette cracks Lashley with a nice body shot. Duquette jumps into guard, dragging Lashley to the mat.
Lashley has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Lashley works over Duquette with some ground and pound from guard. Lashley trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Lashley is in close to Duquette's body, working some short punches and elbows. Lashley prevents Duquette from getting back to his feet. Lashley trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Duquette manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Duquette with a flurry of punches that miss. Duquette preventing the sweep. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Duquette in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lashley looking to hit a scissor sweep but Duquette is one step ahead there.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Duquette keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Duquette darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Lashley fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Duquette clinches up with Lashley and pushes him back against the cage. Duquette working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Duquette drags the fight down to the ground.
Duquette lands with a heel strike from the guard.
Alex Duquette has got the better of the ground game so far. Lashley is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Duquette wants to stand and escape but Lashley is having none of it. Lashley scoring with some ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lashley drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lashley jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Duquette punching from the bottom - just letting Lashley know he's still in a fight. Lashley stops Duquette from standing up. Lashley tries to free his leg and advance position but Duquette is retaining full guard. Lashley passes into half guard. Lashley is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Duquette sees it coming and defends easily. Duquette has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lashley is working away from the top position though. Lashley trying to pass the guard but Duquette defending well. Lashley works his foot free and advances to mount. Duquette is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lashley is working for a guillotine from mount but Duquette frees his head quite easily.
Lashley misses with a head shot. Lashley raining down shots from the mount! Lashley is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Duquette can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Lashley sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Duquette working to try and regain half guard.
Duquette is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Lashley dominating with strikes here. Lashley postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Duquette looks a forlorn figure.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Lashley is going olschool here, as he tries to force Duquette to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Duquette shrugs it off. Lashley working away from the top, dropping strikes. Duquette wants to control but Lashley is having none of it. Duquette throwing hammer fists to the chest of Lashley. What's that going to do exactly? Lashley raining down shots from the mount! Lashley fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Lashley postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Duquette looks a forlorn figure.

A close second round but Alex Duquette will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Lashley closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lashley lands in his opponent's guard. Lashley trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Duquette working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Lashley. Lashley looking to pass the guard. Lashley lands a couple of digs. Lashley wants to pass the guard but Duquette is keeping the position. Lashley throws a big right hand that misses. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Lashley won't allow Duquette to sweep him here. Duquette has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Lashley off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Duquette throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Lashley.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lashley feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Duquette trying to keep a closed guard but Lashley is proving a slippery customer.
Lashley prevents Duquette from getting back to his feet. Lashley sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Duquette's guard. Lashley passes the guard and advances to mount! Lashley landing punches. Lashley lands a big shot there that rocks Duquette but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Duquette tries to hold on but Lashley postures up. Duquette can't escape the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lashley lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Lashley landing strikes from the mount. Lashley wants to finish this one by submission but Duquette is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Lashley. Duquette tries to reverse the position but Lashley maintains control. Lashley has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Duquette's face.

Duquette slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Lashley wants to pass to mount but Duquette is defending the position. Lashley passes to full mount! Lashley with a couple of short strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Duquette wants to hold on but Lashley pushes him away. Lashley connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Duquette in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Lashley landing shots from mount. Lashley landing strikes from the mount and Duquette is in trouble! Duquette manages to regain half guard. Good work. Lashley passes to side control. You can see the frustration on Duquette's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Lashley lands a nice forearm strike. Lashley landing a few strikes. Lashley tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lashley has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lashley is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Duquette has escaped the position, nice work there. Duquette manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Alex Duquette is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Lashley slips a nice elbow through Duquette's hands, connecting with Duquette's forehead. Lashley is thwarting Duquette's attempts to control the position. Lashley looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Duquette with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Bobby Lashley has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Lashley working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Lashley wants to work for an arm triangle but Duquette is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Lashley thows a huge punch but Duquette dodges it nicely.

And that's the end of the fight! Bobby Lashley showed his dominance in that final round. I think Duquette has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
