Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stoneface McGillicutty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Dunham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McGillicutty comes to the cage accompanied by "I'm Shipping Up To Boston" by The Dropkick Murphys. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Stoneface McGillicutty!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rick Dunham!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Steve Montenegro and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Dunham.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dunham decides to take the fight back to the feet.
McGillicutty is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Dunham.
Dunham takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
McGillicutty fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.


It looks like Rick Dunham has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Dunham gets the takedown into side control.

Dunham thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Dunham lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear McGillicutty down.

Dunham wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by McGillicutty, who protects the arm well.
McGillicutty sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

McGillicutty tries to kick Dunham off but Dunham keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Dunham lands with a punch from half guard.
Dunham is looking to stall here but McGillicutty recovers full guard.
Dunham missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Dunham throws a strike but McGillicutty rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
McGillicutty trying to control the position from guard on top but Dunham is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Dunham trying to keep a closed guard but McGillicutty is proving a slippery customer.

McGillicutty is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
McGillicutty stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dunham swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Dunham has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
McGillicutty lands with a shot to the body.
Dunham shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says McGillicutty as he avoids it easily.
McGillicutty throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Dunham on the side of the head.

McGillicutty lands with a straight right. Dunham didn't see that one coming.
McGillicutty lands with a shot to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
McGillicutty looks to land a combination but Dunham avoids it well.

Nice combo by McGillicutty! Oh, that's hurt him - Dunham falls to the canvas and McGillicutty follows him into side control.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dunham can do anything to dispel that myth.
McGillicutty loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Dunham scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from McGillicutty land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. McGillicutty stands and salutes the crowd.
