Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Prana Halo (ranked 525 p4p, 687 weight class) and Hueng Son (ranked 17 p4p, 23 weight class). Prana Halo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Prana Halo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hueng Son!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Halo closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Son to the mat! Son manages to get full guard.
Son seems keen to control Halo's posture.
Halo wants to control from the top but Son keeps moving.

Halo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Halo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Son manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Halo manages to get himself to full guard.

Son must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Halo is trying to drag Son to the mat but Son just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

After the fight, Hueng Son was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
