Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gustav Line (ranked 43 p4p, 332 weight class) and Derrick Barnes (ranked 7 p4p, 54 weight class). Line's entrance music is For Heavy Metal we will die!. A fine choice. Barnes has chosen We Want The Funk as his entrance music. The key to victory for Gustav Line has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gustav Line!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Derrick Barnes !
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Aafke Stam and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Decent striking displayed by Barnes there.
Barnes lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Line doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Barnes cracks Line with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Barnes avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Barnes lands a really nice looking cross but Line seems unphased.
Line looks to throw the jab but Barnes is out of range.
Barnes checks the leg kick nicely there.
Line throws a low kick but Barnes moves out of range easily.
Barnes drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Line defends it well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Barnes looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Line is fending him off so far but Barnes persists. Nope, Line circles away and we're back to standing.
A counter left hand to the body from Line misses its target.
Barnes takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
That kick from Line tenderised Barnes 's leg. Barnes is trying to keep his angry face on.
Barnes fails with the takedown.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Barnes misses the shot to the body.
Line fires out a quick counter leg kick but Barnes just manages to avoid it.
Barnes throws a leg kick
and Line counters with a straight right hand.
Barnes throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Line was covering up waiting for the punch and Barnes finishes the takedown easily into guard.
My spies in Mentor Gym inform me that Barnes has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Line keeping moving, preventing Barnes from controlling successfully.
Line looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Line is looking to cinch up a triangle. Barnes throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Line's body to avoid the submission. Line has instead reached around Barnes 's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Line arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Gustav Line!
Gustav Line retains his welterweight title!
