Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Lito Alcala (ranked 1101 p4p, 1326 weight class) and Great Tiger (ranked 54 p4p, 68 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Alcala might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to MORTAL KOMBAT. Great Tiger has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lito Alcala!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 33 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Great Tiger!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Daniel Blasius and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tiger moves out of range of the strikes.
Alcala looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Alcala swings for the body but Tiger moves out of range.
Tiger follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
Tiger is looking to clinch but Alcala is avoiding it.
Tiger throws a half hearted mid kick.
Alcala fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
A slapping leg kick lands for Alcala.

Tiger's coach down at Sprawl & Brawl was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Tiger's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Tiger takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with each other but Tiger might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Alcala has got the better of the exchanges.
Alcala throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Tiger on the side of the head.
Tiger feints and then cracks Alcala's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Alcala down.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Tiger throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Alcala escapes and throws Tiger's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Tiger tries to get back to half guard but can't.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Tiger is being controlled here.
Great Tiger has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Tiger is desperately trying to improve his position but Alcala has a good base and remains in mount.
Tiger bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tiger accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Alcala is pulling down on Tiger's head. It's preventing any offense from Tiger, at least for the moment.
Alcala wants to stand up but Tiger is controlling him.
Tiger throwing strikes but missing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Tiger trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Tiger stands up over Alcala, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tiger is looking to advance position but Alcala has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Tiger is in all sorts of trouble here.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Lito Alcala.
Well Alcala has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
