Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Giovanni De Rossi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jacob Hopson! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Dillan Fox and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hopson closes the distance and clinches. Hopson using the Thai plumb to throw knees but De Rossi has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
De Rossi jumps guard and drags Hopson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Hopson is sitting in close to De Rossi's body. De Rossi has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Hopson is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Hopson is tapping! That was a very nice submission by De Rossi.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Giovanni De Rossi! After the fight, Giovanni De Rossi was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
