Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between George Pierre (ranked 952 p4p, 1516 weight class) and Rupert Helenius (ranked 124 p4p, 207 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, George Pierre!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rupert Helenius!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Albert Achterberg and Daniel Blasius.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Helenius uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Pierre.
A punch lands to the side of Helenius 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Pierre fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Helenius has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Pierre takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Helenius had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Pierre defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pierre postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Pierre throws a strike but Helenius rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

That was a close round but I would say that George Pierre will probably get the nod.
