Williams comes to the cage accompanied by Empire State of Mind-Jay-Z. Drew Williams has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jermaine Event! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Eddie Farnsworth and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Event drives through with a takedown into guard. Event preventing the sweep. Event trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Event passes easily into side control. Nice work. Williams is looking for a sweep. Event trying to control the position but Williams is working away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. You can see the frustration on Williams's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Williams keeps the fight on the outside. Event shoots in looking for a takedown. Williams tries to sprawl out of it but Event keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Williams manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Williams shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Williams shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Event as he avoids it easily. Williams is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Event gets in close and instigates a clinch. Event misses with a knee strike.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Event holds on and takes a little breather. Williams looking to pass the guard. Event bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Williams's guard. Event trying to control the position from guard on top but Williams is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Event scoring with some ground and pound. I looks like Event might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Event trying to control the position from guard on top but Williams is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Despite being in the dominant position, Jermaine Event just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Event changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Williams looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Williams prevents Event from moving into mount. Williams is looking to regain half guard here but Event keeps moving and retains side control. Event decides to stand back up. Event is looking to clinch. Williams looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Williams wants to control but Event is keeping him busy. Event controlling the position for now. Event is trying to get back to full guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Williams is looking to advance position but Event won't allow it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Event is concentrating on defense, preventing Williams from advancing position. Event moves into full guard.
Event can't keep his opponent in guard - Williams advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Event tries to get to full guard but Williams has control of the leg. Event holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Williams is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Event is just riding it out for now. Williams eventually gives up the hold. Williams tries to pass the half guard into mount. Event knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jermaine Event dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Event feints and as Williams raises his hands in defense, Event changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Williams tries to land a sweep but no joy. Event showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Event pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Williams is keeping the position for now. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williams is controlling Event's posture. Williams keeping moving, preventing Event from controlling successfully. Event is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Williams is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Event trying to control the position from guard on top but Williams is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Event preventing the sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Williams is not content to let Event control the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Event goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Williams misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Event lands with a slapping head kick. Event tries to clinch but Williams is having none of it. Event lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Williams backs up against the cage.
Williams darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Event keeping control of the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Event is looking to control Williams's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Event avoid being mounted? Williams is controlling the pace.
Event is looking for a sweep. Williams is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Event desperately trying to maintain half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jermaine Event showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Williams fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Event sprawls well initially but Williams persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Williams seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Event is trying to control but can't.

Williams is sitting in close to Event's body. Event has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Williams is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Williams is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Event.
