Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kongchai Phetboonme (ranked 3049 p4p, 3968 weight class) and Maverick Syndal (ranked 124 p4p, 160 weight class). Maverick Syndal looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 34 - 19 - 3, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kongchai Phetboonme!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Maverick Syndal!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phetboonme ducks under a wild hook from Syndal.
Phetboonme wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
A decent looking cross lands there for Syndal.
Syndal lunges at Phetboonme with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Phetboonme's hand.
Syndal keeps Phetboonme at a distance using the push kick.
Syndal throws a right and a left that both miss.
A little feinted left hand from Phetboonme on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Syndal has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Syndal there as he acknowledges the shot.
Syndal tries to land a front kick but Phetboonme steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Phetboonme avoids the head kick by Syndal.
Syndal cracks Phetboonme with a good jab.
Phetboonme throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Syndal on the side of the head.
Phetboonme throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A jab lands there for Phetboonme.
Syndal throws a right hand that Phetboonme ducks under and follows up with a left that Phetboonme also avoids with ease.
Syndal jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Syndal takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Syndal tries to keep at a distance but Phetboonme has taken the fight into the clinch.

Phetboonme's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Phetboonme rushes Syndal and presses him up against the cage.

Phetboonme escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Syndal finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Phetboonme throws a right and a left that Syndal avoids nicely.
Phetboonme scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

It looks like Maverick Syndal has been cut.
Phetboonme moves out of range of the strikes.
Phetboonme tries to clinch there but Syndal circles away.
Phetboonme lands with a straight right. Syndal didn't see that one coming.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Syndal - that will leave a mark!
Phetboonme's jab looks to have found its range, popping Syndal under the eye.

Phetboonme moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Oooooh!!! Phetboonme has knocked Syndal down with a huge combo! Phetboonme steps away and waves a wobbly Syndal back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Syndal uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Syndal connects with a looping right hand.
Phetboonme works the jab nicely.
Syndal takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Phetboonme looks to land a combination. Syndal sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

and Phetboonme scores with a counter punch that sends Syndal to the canvas! Phetboonme smells blood - he's punishing Syndal with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Syndal has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kongchai Phetboonme!
Kongchai Phetboonme tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
Maverick Syndal spoke after the fight, saying 'I get paid to show up, Kicking ass is optional.'.
