Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rahim Shabazz (ranked 1766 p4p, 1575 weight class) and Bob Barnes (ranked 68 p4p, 60 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnes lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Shabazz fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
A big left from Shabazz misses.
Barnes only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Shabazz misses with an uppercut
and Barnes counters with a head kick. That will keep Shabazz thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Shabazz fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Barnes looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Barnes has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Shabazz on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Shabazz has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Desert Fitness & Training (14 Elite Coaches) in the buildup to the fight.

Barnes drops Shabazz with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Shabazz looks back up at him and smiles so Barnes waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
A combination from Barnes does no damage.
Barnes lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Shabazz lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Barnes sprawling to the canvas. Shabazz follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Barnes hang on?
Barnes is still in real trouble! Can Shabazz finish him?
Shabazz is thwarting Barnes's attempts to control the position.

Shabazz seems to be looking for submissions.
Barnes seems to have recovered his senses.

Shabazz postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Barnes is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Shabazz, into his guard.

Barnes gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Barnes gets tackled into the cage by Shabazz. Shabazz maintains the clinch.
Shabazz tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Barnes avoids it.
Barnes stops a takedown attempt from Shabazz.
Barnes scores with a nice hook to the head.
Shabazz tries to work over Barnes's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Barnes has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Shabazz drops down looking for an ankle pick but Barnes pulls his leg out and moves away.

Shabazz throws a hook but Barnes avoids it easily.
Barnes turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Barnes misses with a double jab.
Barnes throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Shabazz.
Barnes fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Shabazz has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

and Barnes counters with a good low kick that Shabazz was not able to check.
Barnes lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Shabazz tries to score a power double leg takedown but Barnes sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Shabazz somewhat.
Rahim Shabazz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Bob Barnes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Barnes has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Shabazz on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Shabazz darts in and clinches Barnes up against the cage.

Barnes lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Barnes stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Shabazz.

Barnes appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.

Barnes lands a big head kick that sends Shabazz tumbling to the mat! Barnes takes a step backwards and waves Shabazz back to his feet - he wants the finish!

and Barnes counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Shabazz! He's just covering up as Barnes starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
