PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Minatay Mibangon (ranked 24940 p4p, 24923 weight class) and Way Nada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Way Nada acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 3, fighting out of Las Vegas, Minatay Mibangon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Way Nada!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Mibangon dives in and grabs Nada's left leg, looking for a takedown. Nada pushes down on Mibangon's head and hops out.
Nada throws a counter combo.
Nada goes for a double leg but Mibangon avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Mibangon continues to drive forward.
It appears Mibangon was looking to counter with a kick there.
Mibangon looks to throw a body kick
and Nada counters with a nice kick to the body.

Nada bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nada content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Mibangon is trying to control Nada's posture but Nada avoids it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nada throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Nada happy to just control the position for now.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Nada dives in and grabs Mibangon's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mibangon pushes down on Nada's head and hops out.
Nada stuffs the takedown.
Nada replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Mibangon blocks it well.

Mibangon gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Mibangon pushes Nada off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Mibangon shoots and misses
and Nada counters with a good, hard body kick but Mibangon shrugs it off.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Minatay Mibangon. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Nada gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Mibangon counters with a nice body shot.
Nada will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Mibangon thinks about countering with a body kick.
Mibangon shoots in for a double leg but Nada sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Nada follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.

Mibangon changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Nada looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Nada parries the strikes from Mibangon easily there. Mibangon is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Nada to escape.
Nada is letting Mibangon control him for a moment.
What's Nada going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.
Nada can't do much from the bottom here.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Way Nada will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Nada tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mibangon swivels and escapes.
Nada tries to land a front kick but Mibangon steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Nada fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mibangon sprawls well initially but Nada persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Mibangon manages to get to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mibangon wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Nada sitting in guard here, content to control.
Nada trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Nada seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Nada postures up in Mibangon's guard and throws a big left but Mibangon blocks it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Mibangon pulls Nada in close to his closed guard and prevents Nada from doing any damage or advancing position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Mibangon shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Nada feints the counter takedown.
Nada shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mibangon but Mibangon pushes him off and we're back to square one.
And Mibangon counters with a quick kick to the body but Nada blocks it.
Mibangon dives in and grabs Nada's left leg, looking for a takedown. Nada pushes down on Mibangon's head and hops out.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mibangon moves out of range as Nada throws a body kick.
Mibangon seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Mibangon closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Nada's guard.

Nada wriggles free and stands up.
Nada has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Mibangon is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Nada keeping moving, preventing Mibangon from controlling successfully.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Mibangon is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Way Nada showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Nada shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mibangon as he jumps to the side.
Mibangon throws a quick counter kick to the body but Nada avoids it.
Mibangon misses with a body kick.
Nada raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

Nada feints and as Mibangon raises his hands in defense, Nada changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Mibangon holds on and takes a little breather.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Nada loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Mibangon pulls Nada in close to his closed guard and prevents Nada from doing any damage or advancing position.

Nada explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Nada.

Mibangon wants to control but Nada postures up.
Nada content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Nada wants to take a breather but Mibangon manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Nada.
Minatay Mibangon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Way Nada is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well Nada has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
