PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Craig Long Lang (ranked 23853 p4p, 23583 weight class) and Morrison Dickson (ranked 579 p4p, 581 weight class). Dickson has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Morrison Dickson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Craig Long Lang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Morrison Dickson!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and Cecil Peabody.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dickson throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Lang counters with a three punch combo that has Dickson backing up. Dickson nods at Lang to acknowledge the strikes.
Lang takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Dickson misses with a hook to the body

and Lang counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Lang frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Lang working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Dickson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lang. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lang controlling the position easily from mount.
Lang dominating with strikes here.
Lang definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Dickson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Lang stands up from mount. Strange move.

Dickson tries to keep at a distance but Lang has taken the fight into the clinch.

Lang jumps into guard, dragging Dickson to the mat.
Dickson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lang is on top in guard.

Lang gets to his feet. Dickson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Lang pushes Dickson up against the cage in a clinch.
Dickson tries to circle away but Lang has him pinned against the cage.

Lang pulls guard successfully.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Lang looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Lang pulls Dickson in close to prevent any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dickson stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Lang has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Dickson manages to get his head free but now Lang has transitioned to an armbar! Dickson grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Lang! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
