Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Max Pain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Abia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pain has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Max Pain! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jean Abia! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Horrible takedown by Pain or perhaps it was just good defense by Abia which made him look bad. Pain is breathing heavily. Abia misses with the combination.
Abia tries to clinch but Pain moves out of range. The fight moves into the clinch position. Pain looking for a takedown. Abia comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
It looks like Max Pain has been cut. Abia breaks from the clinch.
Pain shoots for a double leg takedown but Abia sprawls well. He's pushed Pain's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Max Pain. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pain takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Oooh a lovely combination from Abia sends Pain down but not out. Abia dives into side control looking to finish. This has been an exciting period of action! Abia wants to stand but Pain has his arm trapped. Abia is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Pain is trying to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Abia working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Pain is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Abia is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Abia prevents Pain from getting the reversal. Pain wants to control but Abia is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Abia controlling his opponent. Abia's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Pain tries to reverse the position but Abia maintains control. Pain tries to hold on but Abia pushes him away.

Pain is working hard here to advance position. Abia really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pain. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Abia looking to control and managing it successfully. Pain really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Abia controlling from the full mount. Pain can't escape the position.

Jean Abia dominated that round. The cut man is working on Max Pain's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Abia will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Abia closes the distance and pushes Pain back into the cage. Abia's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Nice sprawl there from Abia as Pain shoots in. A left and a right from Abia both land. Nice combination. Abia throws a head kick but Pain moves out of range.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Pain shoots in but no luck this time. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Max Pain. That's going to take a lot out of him. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Abia can do anything to dispel that myth. Pain looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pain works his way into side control. Pain wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Abia, who protects the arm well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Pain wants to lay and pray for a moment but Abia keeps working. Pain is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Abia is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Abia tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Abia gets a clinch. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Abia. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Abia escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Pain fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Abia lands with a kick to the ribs.

Jean Abia showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Max Pain's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Abia goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Abia uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Pain changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Abia tries to avoid it but Pain manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Abia to the ground. Abia escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Pain keeps the fight on the outside. Abia sizes up Pain with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Abia fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Pain. Pain has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Pain takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Pain throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Abia's waist but Abia gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pain off to one side. Max Pain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pain changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Abia tries to avoid it but Pain manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Abia to the ground. Abia escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Pain gets slowly back to his feet. Abia throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pain looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Abia is fending him off so far but Pain persists. Nope, Abia circles away and we're back to standing. Pain looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Nice uppercut lands for Abia. That snapped Pain's head back.
Pain avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Pain shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Abia pinned against the cage. Abia gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Pain closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Pain is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Abia has escaped the position, nice work there. Pain wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Abia, who protects the arm well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pain tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Max Pain has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Pain is trying to get an arm triangle but Abia is defending well. Pain is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Abia is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pain goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Abia rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Pain's guard! Nice work there by Abia! Pain looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Pain working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Abia doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Abia manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Pain is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Jean Abia is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Left hook, right uppercut from Abia. Pain shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Pain was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Pain working for a guillotine from mount but Abia is in no mood to give up.
And that's the end of the fight! Jean Abia comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Abia winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
