Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, George Starling!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Janos Robsteck!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Chris Saunders and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Robsteck misses with a takedown attempt

and Starling moves into the clinch.
Starling is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Starling gets control of Robsteck's arms and successfully pulls guard. Starling will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Robsteck is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Robsteck thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Starling trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Robsteck passes Starling's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Starling on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Starling tries to get out of the position.
Starling wants to get back to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Robsteck looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Starling with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Robsteck trying to mount his opponent but Starling defends it.
Starling trying to control but Robsteck postures up.
Robsteck with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Robsteck prevents Starling from standing back up.
Robsteck content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Starling is trying to get back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Robsteck perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Starling has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Robsteck is working away from the top position though.
Starling is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Robsteck scores with a couple of nice shots.
Robsteck seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Robsteck wants to pass to mount but Starling is defending the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Robsteck is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Starling is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Janos Robsteck!
After winning the bout, Janos Robsteck thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
