Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Teyo Cage (ranked 5180 p4p, 5184 weight class) and Alta Popovanvich (ranked 206 p4p, 205 weight class). Alta Popovanvich is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Teyo Cage!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Alta Popovanvich!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Ackerman and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cage tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Cage tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Popovanvich defends well and Cage ends up having to push Popovanvich into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Cage breaks the clinch.
A swing and a miss from Popovanvich.
Cage clobbers Popovanvich with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Cage fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Cage tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Popovanvich manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Cage tries to score a power double leg takedown but Popovanvich sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Cage somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Teyo Cage. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Popovanvich.
Cage looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A combination from Popovanvich does no damage.
Cage shoots in for a double leg but Popovanvich sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Cage scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Popovanvich fails to land the takedown.
Cage tries to counter by clinching up but Popovanvich breaks away and moves out of range.

Popovanvich closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Popovanvich lands in his opponent's guard.

Cage has his foot on Popovanvich's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Popovanvich works his way back into a safe position though.
Popovanvich wants to control from the top but Cage keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cage is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Popovanvich tries to free his leg and advance position but Cage is retaining full guard.

Cage working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Popovanvich doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Popovanvich manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Popovanvich is looking to advance position but Cage has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Teyo Cage showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Cage has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
