PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Azman Mutrakov (ranked 0 p4p, 4283 weight class) and Kamaru Snoozemen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Azman Mutrakov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kamaru Snoozemen!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paul Aken and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Snoozemen misses with a wild combination.
Mutrakov changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Snoozemen drives through with a takedown into guard.
Mutrakov being controlled here, momentarily.
Mutrakov is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mutrakov is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Snoozemen is controlling him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mutrakov isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Snoozemen stacks Mutrakov on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Snoozemen!

Mutrakov might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Mutrakov tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Snoozemen wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Snoozemen has control of an arm but Mutrakov manages to advance to Snoozemen's back!
Mutrakov has the hooks in. Snoozemen is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Snoozemen wants to control his opponent's hands but Mutrakov gets his hands free.

Snoozemen manages to reverse the position and now he's in Mutrakov's guard. Nice work there by Snoozemen.

Snoozemen stands up over Mutrakov, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Snoozemen thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Mutrakov is adopting a defensive guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Snoozemen not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Mutrakov wants to sweep but no luck.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.
Snoozemen is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Mutrakov wants to get back to his feet but Snoozemen is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Snoozemen shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Snoozemen was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Kamaru Snoozemen dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Snoozemen stuffs the takedown attempt from Mutrakov. Mutrakov gets slowly back to his feet.
Azman Mutrakov is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Snoozemen fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Mutrakov to the ground. Snoozemen is now in Mutrakov's guard.

Mutrakov manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Snoozemen has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Mutrakov uses from the top position.

Snoozemen throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Mutrakov escapes and throws Snoozemen's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mutrakov looking to control but Snoozemen is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Snoozemen gets back to half guard.
Mutrakov is looking to take a break and control but Snoozemen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Mutrakov is really struggling to control Snoozemen but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Snoozemen is pressing down on Mutrakov's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Snoozemen wants to stand up but Mutrakov is controlling him.
Mutrakov postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Snoozemen closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Snoozemen is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Mutrakov is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Mutrakov manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Snoozemen tries to stand and escape but Mutrakov is controlling the position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Azman Mutrakov will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Mutrakov is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Snoozemen's half guard.
Snoozemen tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Mutrakov manages to move to mount!

Mutrakov is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Snoozemen is just riding it out for now. Mutrakov eventually gives up the hold.
Azman Mutrakov overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Snoozemen is trying to get back to full guard.
Snoozemen works his way to full guard. Good work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Snoozemen wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Snoozemen connects with a couple of short punches.
Snoozemen cracks Mutrakov with a solid left hand.
Mutrakov is trying to control the position but Snoozemen postures up.
Mutrakov wants to sweep but no luck.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Mutrakov wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Snoozemen is now in half guard.

Snoozemen is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mutrakov has managed to free his arm - good work.

Mutrakov tries to roll over but Snoozemen keeps him under control.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Mutrakov is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Snoozemen pulls his head out easily.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Kamaru Snoozemen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Snoozemen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
