Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jean Cristopher La Vellei (ranked 1429 p4p, 1614 weight class) and Rich Mahogany (ranked 217 p4p, 241 weight class). Mahogany comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Litty kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 20 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jean Cristopher La Vellei! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 10 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rich Mahogany! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Some bone on bone action there as Mahogany checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Mahogany tries to counter with a clinch but La Vellei shakes him off and moves away. No luck for La Vellei with that takedown attempt. Mahogany fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. La Vellei looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. La Vellei shoots in for a takedown but Mahogany shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Mahogany scores with a nice head shot. La Vellei throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Mahogany misses the jab. La Vellei really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Mahogany misses with an attempted mid kick.
La Vellei thinks about countering with a body kick. La Vellei throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
La Vellei shoots for a double leg takedown but Mahogany sprawls well. He's pushed La Vellei's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jean Cristopher La Vellei. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. La Vellei misses with a leg kick. La Vellei waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Mahogany. Mahogany misses with an uppercut. La Vellei saw that one coming. La Vellei cracks Mahogany with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. La Vellei scores with a punch to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. La Vellei blocks a low kick nicely. Mahogany throws a head kick that misses and Mahogany takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. La Vellei checks the leg kick nicely there.
An attempted straight right counter from La Vellei misses the target. La Vellei has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. La Vellei slips a straight right by Mahogany. La Vellei throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Mahogany's head. Mahogany is looking to score with low kicks. La Vellei lands with a good body shot. La Vellei attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. La Vellei throws a half hearted mid kick. Mahogany lands with a slapping head kick. Jab from La Vellei. Mahogany takes one on the chin but seems OK.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! La Vellei attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. La Vellei stuffs the takedown attempt from Mahogany. Mahogany gets slowly back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. La Vellei connects with a jab. La Vellei looks to throw the jab but Mahogany is out of range. La Vellei scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. La Vellei shoots for a double leg takedown but Mahogany sprawls well. Mahogany lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Horrible takedown attempt by La Vellei or perhaps it was just good defense by Mahogany, which made it look bad. La Vellei lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
La Vellei throws a leg kick that is checked and Mahogany counters with a shoot takedown. La Vellei fights it but they end up in guard. Mahogany drops back looking for a leg! La Vellei is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and La Vellei manages to kick Mahogany off! Mahogany jumps back into La Vellei's guard. Mahogany trying to control the position from guard on top but La Vellei is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. La Vellei will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mahogany slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Mahogany looking to sit in guard and control but La Vellei gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Mahogany controls La Vellei momentarily but La Vellei frees himself. Mahogany looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Mahogany is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and La Vellei defends well. La Vellei looking to pass the guard. Mahogany trying to keep a closed guard but La Vellei is proving a slippery customer.
Mahogany being controlled here, momentarily. La Vellei trying to control but Mahogany is working from the bottom. Mahogany is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Mahogany is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. La Vellei is aware though and is defending well. Mahogany isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. La Vellei stacks Mahogany on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by La Vellei! La Vellei goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Mahogany has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for La Vellei but great work by Mahogany. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jean Cristopher La Vellei will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! La Vellei with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Mahogany shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. La Vellei throws the left hand but Mahogany avoids the punch easily. La Vellei throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
La Vellei is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. La Vellei displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Mahogany throws out the jab. A decent looking body kick lands there for La Vellei. Mahogany misses with a hook. La Vellei is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Mahogany on the wrong end of a nice hook. Mahogany gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Mahogany throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
La Vellei is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. La Vellei is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Mahogany can do to turn this around? Mahogany is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and La Vellei defends well. La Vellei is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

La Vellei got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mahogany has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, La Vellei has managed to get both his arms back between Mahogany's legs - danger averted. Mahogany keeping full guard, as La Vellei tries to pass.

La Vellei is looking to work some ground and pound but Mahogany has wrist control. La Vellei content to stall in guard here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. La Vellei trying to control the position from guard on top but Mahogany is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. La Vellei postures up and lands a big shot to Mahogany's brow. Mahogany looking for a guillotine here but La Vellei defends easily.
La Vellei with a flurry of punches that miss. La Vellei sitting in guard, not really doing much. La Vellei sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Mahogany's guard. Jean Cristopher La Vellei overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mahogany looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. La Vellei winds up and cracks Mahogany with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Mahogany taking some punishment here, with La Vellei in his half guard. La Vellei is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Mahogany is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Our winner, Jean Cristopher La Vellei, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans. Rich Mahogany was interviewed post fight and said 'Congratulations Pice O'Xit. You were a hell of an opponent. I will go home and take solace in my many leatherbound volumes.'.
