Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Barry Bass (ranked 4152 p4p, 3902 weight class) and Denis Burlaka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Barry Bass! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Denis Burlaka! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bass slips under a jab from Burlaka. Bass changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Burlaka looks to score with a jab to the body but Bass is just out of range. Burlaka throws a right hand that Bass ducks under and follows up with a left that Bass also avoids with ease. Burlaka moves into the clinch successfully.
Bass has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Burlaka avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Bass works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Bass wants to control from the top but Burlaka keeps moving. Burlaka throws his legs up looking for a submission but Bass uses it to pass to side control.
Burlaka tries to improve position but can't. Bass working away. We've been hearing that Bass has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Bass wants to lay and pray for a moment but Burlaka keeps working. The referee asks Bass politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Bass prefers to stall for the moment though. Bass is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Burlaka has escaped the position, nice work there. Burlaka is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Bass off and has taken his back!
That's one minute gone in the round. Bass just trying to survive but Burlaka is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Good control from Burlaka. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Burlaka keeps control of the position as Bass tries to break free.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Bass really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Burlaka gets his hands free as Bass looks to control. What can Bass do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Burlaka is not going to allow Bass to sit and survive in this position. Burlaka controlling the position well here. Bass rolled but Burlaka kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Let's hope that Burlaka has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Bass is really stuck here.
Bass trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. Bass tries to escape but Burlaka has the hooks in and won't let him break free. We've been informed that Burlaka has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Bass is breathing heavily. So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Denis Burlaka dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Burlaka throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Bass appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Burlaka throws a series of punches but Bass moves out of range. Bass attempts a counter takedown but Burlaka avoids it well and moves away. Denis Burlaka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A low kick from Burlaka is predictable there and Bass counters with a single leg into guard. Burlaka didn't expect that. Burlaka is looking to cinch up a triangle. Bass throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Burlaka's body to avoid the submission. Burlaka has instead reached around Bass's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Burlaka arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
