Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gemechu McKraken (ranked 240 p4p, 290 weight class) and Murzol Gro Ulfimph (ranked 30 p4p, 36 weight class). Gro Ulfimph has chosen Have a banana as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Gemechu McKraken!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 34 - 17 - 4, fighting out of Montreal, Murzol Gro Ulfimph!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McKraken scores with the left hand. Gro Ulfimph knows he should have avoided that one.
Gro Ulfimph throws out a loose jab but McKraken uses good head movement to avoid it.
A big right from Gro Ulfimph misses.

McKraken avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Gro Ulfimph throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck McKraken on the side of the head.

and McKraken decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Gro Ulfimph's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Gro Ulfimph working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McKraken doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McKraken manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

McKraken is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McKraken lands a couple of digs.
Gro Ulfimph is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
McKraken works over Gro Ulfimph with some ground and pound from guard.
Gro Ulfimph lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Gro Ulfimph tries to free his leg and advance position but McKraken is retaining full guard.
McKraken pulls Gro Ulfimph in close to his closed guard and prevents Gro Ulfimph from doing any damage or advancing position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
McKraken has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Gro Ulfimph has passed into side control.
Gro Ulfimph wants to stand but McKraken has his arm trapped.
McKraken can't do much from the bottom here.
McKraken gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
McKraken is trying desperately to improve position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Murzol Gro Ulfimph will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Gro Ulfimph throws a hook to the side of McKraken's head but McKraken sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
McKraken checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

A looping hook to the body misses from Gro Ulfimph. McKraken does a little dance to reset his feet.
McKraken tries for a takedown but Gro Ulfimph sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Gro Ulfimph was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Gro Ulfimph throws a hook to the side of McKraken's head but McKraken sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
McKraken drops down looking for a counter takedown but Gro Ulfimph sprawls and moves away.
McKraken throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Gro Ulfimph was covering up waiting for the punch and McKraken finishes the takedown easily into guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as McKraken accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Gro Ulfimph wants to sweep here but McKraken controlling him for the moment.

McKraken throws a big right hand that misses.
Gro Ulfimph is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
McKraken wants to control from the top but Gro Ulfimph keeps moving.
McKraken passes Gro Ulfimph's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

McKraken is working for a kimura but Gro Ulfimph is defending it quite comfortably.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
McKraken throws a shot from downtown. Gro Ulfimph moves away and avoids it.
McKraken blocks a jab.
Gro Ulfimph throws the left hand but McKraken avoids the punch easily.
McKraken tries to counter with a takedown but Gro Ulfimph is quick to defend against it.
Gro Ulfimph throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Gro Ulfimph tests McKraken's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Gro Ulfimph scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
McKraken moves into range and connects with a jab.
Gro Ulfimph finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

McKraken shoots in looking for a takedown but Gro Ulfimph manages to keep the fight standing, pushing McKraken's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

McKraken goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Gro Ulfimph has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for McKraken but great work by Gro Ulfimph.
McKraken is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Gro Ulfimph off and has taken his back!
You can see the frustration on Gro Ulfimph's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
McKraken doesn't have the hooks in and Gro Ulfimph manages to turn into his guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Gro Ulfimph is looking to improve his position but McKraken isn't that keen on the idea.
McKraken can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Gro Ulfimph is looking to escape.
McKraken is in the full mount, landing strikes.
McKraken lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
McKraken content just to control the position here.
McKraken goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Gro Ulfimph is on top in guard.
McKraken keeping moving, preventing Gro Ulfimph from controlling successfully.

Gro Ulfimph trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Gro Ulfimph drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but McKraken manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Gro Ulfimph has McKraken in his guard.
Gemechu McKraken overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Gro Ulfimph has momentary wrist control but McKraken slips an elbow through the middle.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

McKraken works a leg free and moves into half guard.
McKraken is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gro Ulfimph defends it well.
Gro Ulfimph works his way to full guard. Good work.
McKraken sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Gro Ulfimph's guard.
McKraken is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Gro Ulfimph tries to regain full guard. Instead though, McKraken has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
And that's the end of the fight!
Gemechu McKraken showed his dominance in that final round.
I think McKraken has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
