Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Janos Robsteck!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Victor Alexander !
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Alexandre Firmino and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Robsteck shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Alexander pinned against the cage. Alexander gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Alexander gets a clinch.
Knees in the clinch landing for Alexander .
Alexander tries a body shot but Robsteck blocks it.
Robsteck is working for takedown but Alexander is calmly controlling the position for now.

Robsteck has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Alexander uses from the top position.
Alexander must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Alexander is looking to stand up but Robsteck won't let him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Robsteck lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Alexander is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Alexander wants to stand and escape but Robsteck is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Alexander can do anything to dispel that myth.
Alexander pushes Robsteck off but Robsteck dives into side control.
Alexander is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Alexander tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Alexander is trying to stand up.

Robsteck wants to finish this one by submission but Alexander is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Robsteck.

Alexander is in a horrible position here. Robsteck smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Robsteck wants to control the pace but Alexander is squirming around nicely.

Robsteck is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Alexander to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Alexander shrugs it off.
Alexander wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Robsteck unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Alexander wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Robsteck celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!

An out of breath Janos Robsteck thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
