This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 10 wins and 9 losses; Arthur Menezes! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Luis Engracia and Matheus Silva.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Kincaid shoots for a takedown but Menezes saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Menezes clinches up against the cage. Menezes pulls guard. Menezes looking for a sweep. Not yet Menezes, not yet. Menezes looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Kincaid pushes down on Menezes's leg and manages to get into half guard. Kincaid uses his free foot to push down on Menezes's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Menezes. Score +3 for passing guard: Kincaid (3) vs (0) Menezes Menezes working to try and regain half guard.
Kincaid goes for an armbar but Menezes turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Menezes. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Kincaid (3) vs (2) Menezes We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kincaid trying to control the position.
Menezes drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Menezes jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Menezes drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kincaid manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Menezes has Kincaid in his guard. Kincaid drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Menezes manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kincaid has Menezes in his guard. Kincaid throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Kincaid lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Kincaid (7) vs (4) Menezes Menezes isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Kincaid stacks Menezes on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Kincaid! Score +3 for passing guard: Kincaid (10) vs (4) Menezes Menezes gets back to half guard. Kincaid is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
We've been hearing good reports from Kincaid's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills.
