Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Noel Diaz (ranked 17 p4p, 92 weight class) and Adam Shalashaska (ranked 3 p4p, 17 weight class). Diaz comes to the cage accompanied by The Stockton Slap Song. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Noel Diaz!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Adam Shalashaska!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Atkins and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz throws a looping overhand right but Shalashaska ducks down to avoid it.
Diaz throws a jab when Shalashaska was well out of range.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Shalashaska has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Shalashaska throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Diaz tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Shalashaska is in Diaz's guard.

Diaz escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Shalashaska gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Shalashaska can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Diaz controls the pace.

Diaz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Shalashaska looks to land a body kick but Diaz moved away.
Diaz throws a lazy right hand but Shalashaska sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Diaz tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Shalashaska manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Diaz on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Shalashaska dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Diaz. That did some damage!

Diaz drops Shalashaska with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Shalashaska looks back up at him and smiles so Diaz waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

It looks like Adam Shalashaska has been cut.
Shalashaska throws the kick towards the body but Diaz avoids it.

And Shalashaska responds with a good body kick, but Diaz manages to step out the way in time.
A looping hook to the body misses from Diaz. Shalashaska does a little dance to reset his feet.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Diaz enables Shalashaska to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Diaz manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

A less than humble Noel Diaz misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
In defeat, Adam Shalashaska stepped up to the mic, saying 'You're pretty good.'.
