Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Way Nada (ranked 24859 p4p, 24906 weight class) and Helen Salvacion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Helen Salvacion has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Way Nada!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Helen Salvacion!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Nada tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Salvacion swivels and escapes.

Nada shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Nada won't allow Salvacion to sweep him here.
Salvacion keeping moving, preventing Nada from controlling successfully.
Nada content to stall in guard here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nada trying to control but Salvacion is working from the bottom.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Nada's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Salvacion misses with a takedown attempt - Nada sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Nada shoots in looking for a takedown but Salvacion manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Nada's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Nada closes the distance and clinches up with Salvacion, looking for a takedown. Nada pushes Salvacion against the cage but Salvacion circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Way Nada. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nice sprawl there from Salvacion as Nada shoots in.

Salvacion closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Nada did well to prevent Salvacion getting side control.
Salvacion is thwarting Nada's attempts to control the position.
Nada is controlling Salvacion's trapped leg to prevent Salvacion from advancing to side control.
Salvacion is controlling the pace.
Nada trying to get back to full guard but Salvacion takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!

Salvacion tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Salvacion avoids the attempt from Nada to control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Nada fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Salvacion sprawls well initially but Nada persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Helen Salvacion has got the better of the ground game so far.
Nada is thwarting Salvacion's attempts to control the position.
Salvacion is refusing to be controlled, as Nada sits in half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Salvacion is controlling Nada's trapped leg to prevent Nada from advancing to side control.

Nada sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Salvacion defending well though.
Salvacion has his hands clasped together around Nada's back. He's all about the action.
Nada trying to control the pace.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Nada is thwarting Salvacion's attempts to control the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Salvacion gets the takedown into side control.
Nada is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Nada can't do much from the bottom here.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nada is looking for a sweep.
You can see the frustration on Nada's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Salvacion just content to control the position.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Nada is holding Salvacion down, trying to stall.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Nada shoots in looking for a takedown but Salvacion manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Nada's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Salvacion changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Nada fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Salvacion to the ground. Nada is now in Salvacion's guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Nada controlling from the top position.
Nada being controlled here momentarily.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Way Nada will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Salvacion manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nada thows a huge punch but Salvacion dodges it nicely.

Salvacion trying to hold on to Nada's head to control him but Nada postures up.
Salvacion keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Nada stalling.
Nada has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Salvacion is trying to maintain the position but Nada is very close to passing his half guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Nada shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
And Salvacion responds with a good body kick, but Nada manages to step out the way in time.

Nada shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Salvacion's guard.
Nada looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Salvacion tries to land a sweep but no joy.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Nada seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Way Nada showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Nada has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
