This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 12 wins and 7 losses; Valentin Saric! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 9 wins and 9 losses; Arthur Menezes! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Thiago Cunha and Daniel Cesar.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. The fight moves into the clinch position. Saric really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Menezes tries to pull guard but Saric forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Menezes pulls Saric into guard.
Menezes working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Saric doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Saric manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Saric controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Saric will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Menezes looking for a guillotine here but Saric defends easily.
Menezes being controlled here, momentarily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Saric's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Saric forces his way into half guard. Menezes actively working from the bottom here. We've been hearing good reports from Saric's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Saric slows the pace down in half guard. Menezes is looking to improve his position.

Saric looking to control and managing it successfully. Menezes is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Menezes wants to control but Saric is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Menezes is wriggling around trying to escape.
Saric avoids the attempt from Menezes to control. Menezes regains half guard. Saric controlling the action here. Menezes is refusing to be controlled, as Saric sits in half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Menezes won't allow Saric to pass to mount. Saric seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Menezes gets full guard. Menezes is looking to cinch up a triangle. Saric throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Menezes's body to avoid the submission. Menezes has instead reached around Saric's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Menezes arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
