The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rocky lands a nice looking body shot.
Velasquez tries to clinch but Rocky is having none of it.
Velasquez doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Velasquez misses with a takedown
letting Rocky counter with a right hand.
Rocky lands with a nice combination. Velasquez backs away looking to recover.

It looks like Vitor Velasquez has been cut.
Velasquez is looking to clinch.
Rocky connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Oooooh!!! Rocky has knocked Velasquez down with a huge combo! Rocky steps away and waves a wobbly Velasquez back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Velasquez throws a left and a right that both miss
and Rocky rattles Velasquez with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Velasquez tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Rocky dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Velasquez stiff and motionless on the mat!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Apollo Rocky!
