Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Donald Weaver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jaimie Hopson!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Daniel Bishop and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Weaver throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
enabling Hopson to counter with a crisp jab.
Weaver fails with the takedown
and Hopson counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Weaver swings widly with a right hand
and Hopson counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Weaver thinking.
Weaver darts in trying to clinch
enabling Hopson to counter with a crisp jab.
Weaver misses with a hook
and Hopson holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Weaver misses with a hook from the clinch.
Hopson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Weaver throws a poor cross that misses
and Hopson counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Weaver with a poor takedown
and Hopson counters with a stiff right hand.
Weaver tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Hopson counters with a nice right hand that sends Weaver toppling to the canvas! Weaver scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Hopson finish him?!
Weaver is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hopson circles away from the clinch attempt
and Hopson makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Oh Weaver is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Weaver throws a right hand that misses
and Hopson counters with a huge left! Weaver is in big trouble! He's backing up but Hopson isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Weaver from any more damage. A dominating finish by Hopson!
