Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Lou Gotch (ranked 2183 p4p, 2712 weight class) and Raniel Mancuso (ranked 123 p4p, 148 weight class). Mancuso has chosen O Retrô Ativo - Heróis do Status Quo as his entrance music. Raniel Mancuso has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Lou Gotch's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Lou Gotch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Raniel Mancuso!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Chris Edwards and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gotch takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Gotch gets a takedown into half guard.
Gotch prevents Mancuso from standing back up.

Gotch is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Gotch wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mancuso keeps working.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gotch is trying to work for a kimura but Mancuso is defending well.
Mancuso won't allow Gotch to pass to mount.

Gotch seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Mancuso tries to kick Gotch off but Gotch keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Gotch tries to pass to full mount but Mancuso defends it.
Gotch seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Mancuso gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Gotch to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Gotch wants to take a breather but Mancuso is having none of it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gotch trying to pass the guard but Mancuso defending well.
Gotch is looking to take a break and control but Mancuso is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Mancuso is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Gotch works his way into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mancuso is not content to let Gotch control the position.

Gotch has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Mancuso throws a left and a right that both miss

and Gotch counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Gotch tries to free his leg and advance position but Mancuso is retaining full guard.
Gotch stops Mancuso from standing up.
Gotch stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mancuso swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Gotch slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Mancuso is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Gotch is controlling him.

Mancuso misses the shot to the body.
Mancuso throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Mancuso moves into the clinch.
Gotch is trying to pull guard but Mancuso has him pressed against the cage.

Mancuso breaks the clinch.
Mancuso scores with a kick to the body.
Mancuso misses with the combination.
Mancuso throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Gotch's head.

Gotch is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Mancuso's half guard.
Mancuso is trying to stand back up but Gotch is controlling him
Gotch is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Mancuso really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gotch. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Gotch is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Gotch looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Mancuso tries to kick Gotch off but Gotch keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Gotch is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mancuso defends it well.
Mancuso is trying to stand.

That was a close second round but I would say that Lou Gotch will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Mancuso throws a sloppy head kick and Gotch moves out of range easily.
Gotch changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Mancuso moves into range and clinches up with Gotch.
Gotch is trying to pull guard but Mancuso has him pressed against the cage.
Gotch has Mancuso pressed against the cage, preventing Mancuso from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Mancuso escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mancuso scores with a jab to the head.

Gotch shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mancuso napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Gotch moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Lou Gotch overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Raniel Mancuso has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gotch is defended easily by Mancuso.
Mancuso throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

and Gotch counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Gotch sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Mancuso's guard.
We've been hearing good reports from Gotch's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

I would just about give that final round to Raniel Mancuso.
