PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jay Porter (ranked 3391 p4p, 2538 weight class) and Hendrix Cabrera (ranked 434 p4p, 348 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Hendrix Cabrera was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jay Porter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hendrix Cabrera!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Atkins and Phil Schofield.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Porter pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Cabrera back to the cage. Porter follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

It looks like Hendrix Cabrera has been cut.
Porter tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Cabrera manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Cabrera throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Porter misses with a series of wild punches.
Porter looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Porter rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Cabrera moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Porter thows a leg kick but Cabrera checks it
and Cabrera connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Porter swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Cabrera feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Porters jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Porter fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Porter smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Porter looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Cabrera is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
Cabrera slips a jab and a cross from Porter.
Porter throws a right and a left that both miss.
Cabrera looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Porter misses with a double jab
and Cabrera counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Porter throws a right and a left that both miss.
Cabrera follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
Porter throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Cabrera counters by clinching up.
Cabrera tries to throw a body punch but Porter avoids it by throwing Cabrera back against the cage.
Cabrera lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Cabrera lands with a left to the head.

Cabrera's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Cabrera lands a big head kick that sends Porter tumbling to the mat! Cabrera takes a step backwards and waves Porter back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Porter is rocked!
Jay Porter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cabrera lands a jab to Porter's midsection.
Oh Porter is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Cabrera fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Porter to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Porter looks to clinch but Cabrera throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Porter taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
