Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Josh Rodriguez (ranked 4514 p4p, 5430 weight class) and Brian Thompson (ranked 526 p4p, 572 weight class). Josh Rodriguez looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodriguez ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Nice takedown defense from Rodriguez. No joy for Thompson on that attempt.
Rodriguez is looking to counter the offense by Thompson and move into the clinch.
Rodriguez shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Thompson as he jumps to the side.
Thompson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rodriguez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Thompson somewhat.
Horrible takedown attempt by Thompson or perhaps it was just good defense by Rodriguez, which made it look bad.
Josh Rodriguez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brian Thompson.

Thompson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Rodriguez tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Thompson is in Rodriguez's guard.

Thompson gets to his feet and stands over Rodriguez, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Rodriguez felt that one! Thompson unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Rodriguez from any more punishment!
