The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fireworks fails with an attempt to clinch.
Fireworks wants to clinch. Fireworks tries to clinch there but Horace circles away.
Fireworks scores with a jab to the head.
Fireworks fails in his attempt to clinch. Fireworks tries to close the distance and clinch but Horace swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Horace avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Fireworks tries to clinch up but Horace circles away and keeps his distance. Fireworks tries to clinch but Horace is having none of it. Fireworks is looking to clinch. Horace will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Fireworks tries to close the distance and clinch up but Horace swats him away and circles back towards the center. Fireworks gets the takedown into side control. Fireworks knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Horace on the ground. Fireworks looks up at the clock and then as Horace takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Fireworks smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Horace is looking to reverse the position. Fireworks scoring with punches and elbows.
That's one minute gone in the round. Horace wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Fireworks decides to stand back up. Horace ducks under a wild hook from Fireworks. A head kick misses from Horace. Fireworks is looking to clinch. Fireworks moves in looking to clinch but Horace pushes him off. Horace circles away from the clinch attempt.

Fireworks connects with a good right hand that stumbles Horace. Horace circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Fireworks throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Fireworks tries to close the distance and clinch but Horace swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Fireworks scores a takedown into full mount! Horace looks gassed! Fireworks scores with a couple of good head shots there.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Fireworks wants to finish this one by submission but Horace is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Fireworks.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Horace really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Horace regains half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Horace wants to get back to his feet. Fireworks looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Horace with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Fireworks scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Horace pushes Fireworks off and gets back to his feet. The fight moves into the clinch position. Fireworks turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Horace regains half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Fireworks connects with a nice short shot to Horace's temple. Fireworks trying to control from half guard but Horace is working away. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Fireworks lands a nice short elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Horace avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Fireworks. Fireworks thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Fireworks wants to pass the guard but Horace is defending well. Fireworks wants to take a breather but Horace is having none of it.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Horace throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Fireworks's waist but Fireworks gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Horace off to one side. Fireworks fails in his attempt to clinch. Fireworks fails with an attempt to clinch.
Fireworks throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Todd Fireworks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fireworks tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Horace paws at him with a jab and circles away. Horace shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Horace was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Horace looking for a guillotine from mount but Fireworks is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fireworks tries to reverse the position but Horace maintains control. Horace jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Fireworks manages to avoid the submission attempt. Fireworks is trying to get back to half guard. Horace is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Fireworks is trying to escape and Horace transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Fireworks is forced to tap! Nice work there by Horace! Very nice indeed!
